DNA Profiling (or finger-printing) is currently the most authoritative means of biotechnology for determining human relationship and identity, and is accepted worldwide by the legal and scientific communities. HEAL provides a broad range of DNA profiling services for private or legal use

DNA paternity testing determines whether a tested man is the biological father of a tested child. Each individual has a unique genetic profile which is determined by the DNA (genetic material) passed on from our parents. We inherit half of our DNA from our father, and half from our mother. A DNA paternity test compares a childs DNA pattern with that of the alleged father to check for evidence of this inheritance.

Tested Parties:
In a standard DNA test, the tested parties include a child, the alleged father, and the mother.

Accuracy guarantee:
HEAL guarantees at least 99.99% probability of paternity for inclusion (the alleged father is considered the biological father), and 100% certainty of exclusion (the alleged father is not the biological father).

Our consultant is one of the pioneers in local paternity testing and has been actively involved in its development and application since 1999. We apply Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)Vbased analysis of Short Tandem Repeats (STR) of DNA fragments. 16 STR loci are routinely analyzed, three more than the minimum FBI requirement.

Sample Collection:
Epithelial cells are obtained through swabbing of the inside of the cheek (buccal swab). The procedure is quick and painless. Results obtained are just as accurate as using blood samples. Buccal swab sampling is performed by trained professionals in a confidential setting at one of our two collection centers. Alternatively, we can provide training for clients to perform the sample collection by themselves if it is inconvenient for any one of the parties to come to our centre. We can also perform DNA testing on special samples such as hair, cigarette ends, urine, blood stain etc. Please call us for assessment and quotation.

DNA maternity testing determines whether a tested woman is the biological mother of a tested child.

A DNA grandparentage test, performed in the absence of an alleged father, determines the relationship between a child and the parents of the alleged father to indirectly prove patenity.

The test determines whether two children are biological full or half siblings.

The test determines whether twins are fraternal or identical.

DNA profiling allows individuals to obtain a record of their genetic profile. HEAL also offers a DNA Banking service for individuals who want their samples available should the need for DNA testing arise. Your DNA sample will be stored in our secure and environmentally-controlled facility for 15 years or more.

Individuals may need DNA Profiling and Banking for a variety of reasons:

Future paternity tests in case of claims on a persons estate
Personal identification of people in high-risk professions, such as men and women in the military, law-enforcement personnel, firefighters, Red Cross and missionary workers/volunteers, pilots and flight attendants, overseas contractors etc.
Detection of inherited risks for a genetic disease
Confirmation of family relationships

Our forensic testing services include extraction and isolation of DNA from submitted specimens, creating individual DNA profiles of all isolated samples, and finding matches by comparing with other evidence. Our DNA experts can provide individual case consultation

Submitted specimen will be analyzed for the presence of semen/sperm. Individual profiles will be created for all human DNA isolated and these profiles can be compared with profiles created from known samples. The sample can also be screened for sexually transmitted diseases by testing for the DNA of causal organisms (e.g. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV), Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), N. gonorrhea, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Hepatitis B Virus etc.)
